How POS Software uses Bar Code weighing machine

In retail outlet weighing counter and billing counter are separate. Before product reached to billing counter, it should be weighed and assigned to PLU or product SKU. BOKAS GST and Point of sale software is per-configured to use Essae Barcode weighing machine. It helps retail shop to customize their work efficiently without any error. After every transaction, data is pushed into an outward GST sale format which can exported any time in XLS format.

Barcode Label format


Bar code weighing machine is a separate entity of POS and not tied together. Each machine needs to be configured as per the POS software and need to be coded. BOKAS GST Software’s bar code label format is PLU00Weight. First 6 digits are reserved for PLU (SKU) and after two zeros; next 6 digit code is reserved for weight in gram. Whenever product is scanned it try to decode in above specified format.

How Bar code is useful in GST Point of Sale (POS) software


  1. Customer buy sugar and goes to weight counter

  2. Supporting staff place sugar on weighing machine presses it’s PLU (SKU)

  3. Machine prints label which staff past on sugar packet

  4. Customer goes to main billing counter

  5. Billing Staff Scan the bar code and price automatically get added in to POS Software

  6. Customer get GST formatted detailed POS bill

  7. Software pushes outward sale in GSTR-1 for B2C

To activate ESSAE Bar code machine, select it and Save settings.
